Children of the World, World Expo Shanghai 2010

Children of the World – Shanghai- 2010 is a permanent open-air exhibit installed during the World Expo 2010.
These monumental bronze-casting pieces of children from all over the world are deeply rooted in modernity through the urban footprints and sewer plates, all from capitals where Rachid Khimoune “met his children”.
There are 21 of them facing a big field. Twenty-one pieces as a metaphor for the 21st century in which they were born.Twenty one pieces as a metaphor for the twenty one steps needed for their creation.
Thanks to the generosity of prestigious sponsors, there are 2 copies of each sculpture. One goes to its country of origin, the other joins its 20 friends, placed on each side.
